Floyd County Humane Society has merged with the Floyd County Animal Rescue League. We will still operate as Floyd County Humane Society, but have joined together to support animals in need to educate our community on animal welfare and the many programs available to New Albany/Floyd County animals.

Welcome to the Floyd County Humane Society of Indiana.
The Floyd County Humane Society, founded in 1904, has been giving assistance to animals and pet owners by speaking for those that cannot speak for themselves …the animals.
We strive to promote animal welfare, proper pet ownership, help reduce pet overpopulation, and assist people in need.
You may also reference and follow our Facebook page if you cannot find what you need here.
We also provide financial support to the New Albany Animal Shelter and the Floyd County Animal Shelter for staff training as well as supporting their low-cost spay/neuter programs, which has helped decrease the number of animals surrendered to animal control & shelter to its lowest point in years.
We are a 501c3 organization and funded solely by private donations and our fundraising efforts.

PET (Prevent, Educate, Treat)
The problem of unwanted pets is growing. The Humane Society of the United States estimates more than 6 million pets are abandoned each year.
Every day in our community people discard litters of unwanted puppies and kittens. These defenseless animals are forced to fend for themselves. You can help solve this problem. Please spay or neuter your pet.
